Michelle & David's Engagement Session

I started out at Michelle and David's apartment at the Astor Hotel.  I took some great shots on their rooftop and also got to meet their awesome dog Tucker.  Then we hit the streets enjoying a stroll through Lincoln park .  Next, we made our way to North Avenue Beach for some killer skyline views, and closed out the day with the sun setting over the new Modern Wing of the Art Institute.  We had a great time and I am looking forward to shooting their wedding in November!

Mary & Jeff's Wedding

Mary & Jeff's day started in Mount Prospect at Mary's parents house for getting ready pictures.  The ceremony was at St. Nectarios Greek Orthodox Church in Palatine, beautiful place, so many great colors.  We had a nice amount of time for pictures so we went to a forest preserve in the area with the bride, groom and wedding party.  We got some fun shots there.  The reception was at Concorde Banquets in Kildeer.  What a fun night, the Greek dancing was really great to watch and photograph.  We had a great time working with Mary, Jeff and the whole group there.

Ruth & Steve's Engagement Session

Ruth and Steve were up for a fun shoot.  They liked the urban feel so we hit some of my favorite places.  West Loop and some industrial areas, my favorite graffiti wall that I've never gotten to shoot at and ended with a few by the lake.  I really liked the way this session turned out.  The wedding is getting close, it's going to be fun!

Angela & Gonzo's Engagement

We did Angela & Gonzo's session 5 days before their wedding!  It was fun, we started out at the United Center where they had many memorable dates.  Then we hit some cool urban spots around West Loop and West Town.  We ended at North Avenue Beach, the light was great by then and we got some beautiful shots.

Yeny & Hady's Engagement Session

Yeny and Hady's shoot started in Lincoln Park to get some shots on Halsted by some of the boutiques, doorways and sidewalks.  Then we hit the loop for some bridges and architecture.  We ended at Museum Campus where they had gone after their first date, the skyline looked great and we got some nice light over at the little beach there.  They are such a nice fun couple.  The wedding is going to be great.

Christine & Andrew's Wedding

Christine & Andrew's day started off at the Raffaello Hotel where they got ready.  We did all the photos of the bride and groom and wedding party ahead of time so we set up Christine & Andrew's first meeting outside the hotel.  Then we grabbed as many cabs as we could find and headed to the West Loop to get some really cool stuff in some industrial/urban spots.  The ceremony and reception were together at New Leaf, that's such a cool venue.  We had an amazing day, it was really awesome to work with Christine and Andrew and shoot in such cool places!

Krystal & Al's Engagement Session

Krystal and Al's shoot started at some industrial spots in the city, they even climbed on top of a train for a few.  From there we went downtown for a city feel, we ended at Montrose Harbor to get some nature and the beach.  Krystal and Al are so nice and easy to get along with, I think we had a great shoot and the wedding is going to be awesome.

Dwyer & Peter's wedding

Dwyer and Peter's day started at the Conrad Hotel where they both got ready.  The ceremony and reception were at the Ivy Room.  The actual ceremony was outside in the courtyard, it's such a cool location, surrounded by buildings and fire escapes, it's like a hidden garden in the city.  The cocktails and reception were right inside.  The night was great, everyone was so nice and fun.  Dwyer and Peter were a really great couple and we wish them all the best!

Heather & Brian's Wedding

Heather and Brian's day started at the Marriott where Heather and the girls got ready, then Michelle headed over to the Fourth Presbyterian Church to shoot the guys.  The ceremony was beautiful, that church is so impressive.  It quickly got very cold and rainy so our photo plans altered a bit, we headed to Union Station for some pictures with the wedding party under the huge pillars then inside for more.  We also hit the glimmering wet street in front of the Board of Trade.  The reception was at Cafe Brauer, definitely one of the coolest venues around.  It was a pleasure working with everyone there, best of luck!

Lindsay & Justin's engagement session

Lindsay and Justin were so fun to shoot with.  They were up for anything, we were walking down an alley and I saw some really cool windows but they were too high to use, no problem they grabbed a ladder and climbed about 15' and we shot away.  Later we were in the Lilly Pond in Lincoln Park and they took off their shoes and hopped right in.  We definitely had a great time, I can't wait to do the wedding.

Marisa & Nick's Wedding

Marisa & Nick's day started off at the University Club where they got ready.  Marisa and the girls in one of the hotel rooms and Nick and they guys in the Billiards room.  We then proceeded to the Church of the Ascension for the ceremony, it's a very cool church.  We did the pictures afterwards on the north side of the Art Institute, we got some fun stuff.  Then we headed back to the University Club for the reception.  It was decorated beautifully, that place is pretty impressive.  We had a great time with everyone there, it was a really fun group.

Sara & Damien's Engagement Session

I met up with Sara and Damien at their condo to get some fun pics of them with their dog.  Damien proposed by singing to Sara, so I got him to reenact it for the pictures, it was great!  Then we hit up a couple hidden spots in their neighborhood.  We ended at North Avenue Beach, by that time it was freezing but they did great.  I'm excited to work with with them again at their wedding in October.

Ema & Beni's Wedding

We were lucky enough to get to shoot yet another fun Romanian wedding down in Fort Lauderdale, FL.  It's such a fun group, we started off the day with some getting ready shots and I got a ride in the bride and grooms Lamborghini that the rented as the getaway car.  The ceremony was at their church and the reception was at a beautiful country club.  We got a few minutes before the reception for pictures and after it was over we went to the beach to get the last few minutes of light.  We had a blast, such a fun group.  We wish Ema & Beni all the best!

Marisa & Nick's Engagement session

Marisa and Nick were really fun to work with.  We started out in a cool yellow alley in Lincoln Park and found a few other hidden spots close by.  We ended up near the Lincoln Park Zoo.  Their wedding is in 2 days!  I think it's going to a really good one.

Erin & Luke's Wedding

Erin and Luke's day started with getting ready shots of Erin and the girls at their condo in Wicker Park, and the guys at the Ambassador East Hotel in Lincoln Park.  Then we were off to a beautiful ceremony at St. Clement's Church.  The weather was actually awesome for winter so we headed downtown for awhile for some fun pics of them and the wedding party.  Finally the reception was at Murphy's Auditorium.  It's such a cool venue there, it's a very old building that was recently renovated, it's really not like any other reception venue in Chicago.  Erin and Luke were as nice and cool as they look, we had a blast and wish them the best of luck!

Beth & Trace's Engagement Session

For Beth and Trace we started out by having brunch to discuss the shoot (that's always a good way to start!).  We did some shots by the river, some fun industrial spots.  Then we headed downtown and finally up to Lincoln Park to finish.  I really loved working with these two, they're so nice and fun.  Can't wait till the wedding!

Carrie & Bob's Wedding

Carrie & Bob's day started at each of their parents houses to get ready.  They had some fun spots to shoot at.  We then went to find Bob who was waiting for Carrie at a Gazebo, it was cool.  Perfect amount of snow on the ground for pictures.  Then we went to find some cool spots to shoot with them and the wedding party.  Everyone did awesome being out in the cold, they seemed to have fun even though they were numb from the cold.  The church was St. Rita's on the south side and reception was at the Beverly Country Club.  We were so lucky to get to work with such a cool group, we had a great time.

Emily & Jason's wedding

Emily and Jason's entire wedding was at the University Club.  If you haven't seen it it's amazing, looks a lot like it's from Harry Potter.  The whole day was beautiful, they even braved the cold enough to go outside for a few pics on Michigan Avenue.

Susie & Jon's wedding

We were lucky enough to work with the Mensching family for the second time to shoot Susie & Jon's wedding.  The girls got ready at Susie's parents house in Itasca and the guys at a hotel nearby.  The ceremony was at their family church nearby.  We headed off for pictures to a cool little spot downtown Itasca then to Medinah Country club for more pictures and the amazing reception was there as well.  We had such a great time with everyone there.  Susie and Jon are going to make such a great couple and we're sure they are going to have a great life together.

Lynne & Demetrio's Wedding

Lynne & Demetrio's day started at the Intercontinental hotel downtown.  Then we headed up to St. Hilary Church on the far north side for the ceremony in a really cool trolley that had a vintage sofa in the back.  Nothing was bolted down though so it made for a fun ride.  We headed back downtown for pictures and we fought through the fading light but I think we got some great shots.  The reception was at the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, if you've never been there it has an awesome view of the skyline.  We wish Lynne & Demetrio all the best in their new life together.
